Santa Matrona Chapel

The chapel of S. Matrona is situated Santa Croce church in San Prisco, a town that was part of the ancient Capua. According to the tradition, Matrona, a Roman noblewoman found S. Priscus relics and decided to build a church, in the 5th century AD.

S. Matrona chapel is decorated with beautiful Byzantine mosaics which depicts Jesus Christ and the  evangelists.
